When you walk into a store, they always have a certain layout and most stores are laid out to help them make money. Just like retail stores, you want to have a nice layout for your garage sale so you are successful. Here are some great ideas to help you layout and display the merchandise you’re planning to sell.
One of the biggest things to remember when deciding on your layout is to make sure that you keep everything looking organized and tidy. People judge sales by the first impression they get. Keeping everything nicely organized will pay off.
Display big ticket items in the front. These items should be out from so people can see them from their car. These items also help to soften the space between the road and your display so they feel comfortable entering this space.
It’s also important that you keep plenty of space in between any large items or the tables where you are displaying smaller items. This way multiple customers and easily get through and browse through the area.
Near the front of your sale, keep some boxes or tables of cheap items that are 50-cents or only 25-cents. Have large signs on these items so they can be seen from the road. Usually tables that are long and narrow are going to reach best. This way people don’t have to reach over other items to get to what they want.
When placing items on the tables, place the larger items near the back and small items should be near the front. The tables should be set up in a U-shape as well. This allows plenty of space for people to get around the area. Make sure you arrange everything in a way to avoid any accidents as well. Keep breakables in places where they are less likely to be knocked off and avoid putting heavy items on flimsy tables.
